Organizing content with Astro collections

As a site grows, loose Markdown files get hard to manage. Astro’s Content Collections bring order: each collection is a folder of entries with a shared, typed schema.

Typed frontmatter

Define a schema once and every entry is validated against it at build time. Miss a required field or use the wrong type, and you get a clear error before the site ever ships — not a broken page in production.

Query with confidence

Because collections are typed, fetching and filtering entries is safe and predictable. This template uses collections for pages, blog posts, service areas, and case studies — the blog list, tag pages, and RSS feed all read from the same source.

Easy to extend

Adding a new content type is straightforward: create the folder, define the schema, and wire up a route. From there, new entries are just Markdown files — the kind of thing an editor can add in CloudCannon without help.
